Ronaldo is the top bombardier 2023, Haaland - takes 4th place

On the final day of 2023, we can recap some results, including determining the top goalscorer of the year.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted another goal in yesterday's match of the 19th round of the Saudi Pro League. This strike marked his 54th goal of the current year, crowning him as the top scorer of the year.

Remarkably, Ronaldo didn't even make it into the top 50 in last year's rankings.

His closest pursuers, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, each tallied 52 goals this year. Erling Haaland, the forward from Manchester City and the Norwegian national team, scored 50 goals but faced several injuries, leaving speculation about his potential.

The top five is rounded off by another forward from outside Europe's top 5 leagues - Garban Kaflan, who plays in New Zealand. The Irishman bagged 41 goals this year.
