Portugal are in advanced discussions to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in an international friendly on June 6, as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Soccernet.ng reports.

The match is expected to take place in Lisbon, with both federations having reached an agreement in principle, though final details are still being worked out.

If completed, fans could witness a major encounter between Victor Osimhen and Cristiano Ronaldo. Nigeria will not feature at the 2026 World Cup, but their strong performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they finished third, has made them an attractive opponent.

Portugal, already qualified, want high-level tests before facing Colombia and Uzbekistan in their group.

The teams last met on November 17, 2022, when Portugal won 4–0 in Lisbon.
