In an interview with A Bola, the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo addressed the topic of potentially retiring from the Portuguese national team. The forward made it clear that he has no intention of ending his international career anytime soon.
“These are just rumors. I haven’t even considered retiring from the Portuguese national team. My motivation is to keep playing for the national team and to win the Nations League,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo has previously mentioned that he doesn’t see himself becoming a coach or continuing in football-related roles after he retires from playing.
As a reminder, Ronaldo is the all-time leading scorer in international football, with 130 goals in 212 matches.
On September 5, Portugal will play against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, followed by a match against Scotland three days later.
