Ronaldo has paused contract talks with Al Nassr. What's going on?

Cristiano Ronaldo was on the verge of extending his contract with Al Nassr, and just a few weeks ago, the deal seemed all but done. Now, however, it’s up in the air.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, despite a verbal agreement to extend his deal until 2026, Ronaldo has put the contract signing on hold following Al Nassr’s elimination from the AFC Champions League at the hands of Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.
The defeat is believed to have made Ronaldo reconsider his future, as the forward reportedly no longer believes in the club’s direction. While the contract offer remains on the table, Ronaldo is demanding firm assurances regarding the club’s ambitions.
Reminder: Previously, Ronaldo and Al Nassr had reached a verbal agreement to prolong his stay at the club until 2026. If signed, the Portuguese star would earn €200 million per season. Reports have also surfaced about interest from a Brazilian Club World Cup participant in signing Ronaldo.
