Ronaldo could play at the Club World Cup. Several options are on the table

Al Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo will certainly not feature for his club at the upcoming Club World Cup, but the Portuguese superstar might still find himself taking part in the global spectacle.
Details: According to ESPN, the 40-year-old forward could sign a short-term contract with one of the participating clubs for the duration of the tournament. Notably, options involving European clubs or Botafogo—already mentioned in transfer rumors—cannot be ruled out.
Reminder: Previously, Ronaldo hinted at leaving Al Nassr after the Saudi side suffered defeat to Al-Fateh and lost all hope of qualifying for the AFC Champions League.
The Moroccan side Wydad had also shown interest in the 40-year-old, but a move there seems unlikely, as FIFA imposed two transfer bans on the club between late April and early May.
