HIGHLIGHTS. Roma clinched a victory against Napoli in match with two red cards

In the final match of Serie A's 17th round, Roma hosted Napoli. The teams came into the game separated by just two points in the standings.
The first half saw several chances, but it was more notable for the lack of discipline. Four yellow cards were brandished, and even Mazzarri and Mourinho received warnings for their emotional outbursts.
The second half continued in the same aggressive vein, leading Napoli to go down to ten men: in the 66th minute, Politano received a direct red for an altercation with Zalewski. Roma capitalized on the numerical advantage ten minutes later as Pellegrini netted a stunning goal with a swift turn.
Napoli's efforts to equalize proved futile, and their woes compounded when Osimhen received his second yellow for a disrupted attack, reducing them to nine men. Lukaku sealed the game for Roma, finishing off a swift counterattack in stoppage time.
With this win, Roma climbed to sixth place in Serie A with 28 points, while the defending champions Napoli sit in seventh with 27 points. The teams will conclude the year with matches against Juventus (on December 30th) and Monza (on December 29th) respectively.
