Roje Stona is the person of the day at the Olympics according to Dailysports

On the 12th day of competition at the 2024 Olympic Games, Dailysports has, as per tradition, selected the person of the day.

According to our team, today's standout performer was Jamaican athlete Roje Stona. He won the gold medal in the discus throw, achieving a distance of 70 meters on his fourth attempt and setting a new Olympic record. Stona narrowly surpassed Lithuania's Mykolas Alekna by three centimeters. Remarkably, it was Alekna who had first broken the Olympic record previously held by his father, only for Stona to improve upon it in the subsequent attempt.

Additionally, Roje Stona secured Jamaica's first-ever medal in this discipline at the Olympic Games.
