Real Madrid midfielder Rodrygo appears to have lost his place in the squad for good and is now preparing to leave the Madrid club.
Details: According to Sport, should the Brazilian depart Madrid, his most likely next destinations are Arsenal and Manchester City. Rodrygo now believes there is no way back, and Real are considering expediting his exit once the January transfer window opens.
Rodrygo and his father, who also acts as his agent, are eager to avoid a repeat of last summer, when the Brazilian was unable to leave the club despite interest from several top European teams.
However, the transfer could be delayed due to a knee injury suffered by Real’s star striker Kylian Mbappé, which will likely sideline the Frenchman for several upcoming matches. If the Brazilian is sold, Real Madrid will be looking for a fee of around €100 million (£87 million), as his contract runs until 2028. In addition to the English clubs, PSG are also maintaining an interest and could outbid any Premier League offers if they wish.
This season, Rodrygo has made 21 appearances for Madrid in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Transfermarkt values him at €60 million.
Reminder: Brahim Diaz will sign a new contract with Real Madrid.
