Rivers United Seek Revival as 3SC, Remo Stars Battle for Mid-Table Lift

Rivers United return to Nigeria Premier Football League action today at 4 p.m. against Kano Pillars in Port Harcourt, hoping to bounce back from their 1–2 home defeat to RS Berkane in the CAF Champions League. The team also lost their first group match to Egypt’s Pyramid FC and currently sit bottom of their Champions League group. Despite their continental struggles, Finidi George’s side are fourth in the NPFL with 23 points from 12 games and could climb higher with a win.

Kano Pillars, however, are desperate for points. They sit last in the 20-team league with nine points from 14 matches and must win to keep their survival hopes alive.

In Ibadan, Shooting Stars (3SC) host defending champions Remo Stars in another key fixture. A victory could push 3SC from 10th to fourth, while Remo Stars could rise from 13th to seventh with a win.
