Riveiro talks about their debut against Inter Miami in the Club World Cup opener
Former Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Rivero gave his reaction to Al Ahly's first official match against Inter Miami, which ended in a goalless draw with neither side able to find the back of the net for 90 minutes in the group's first match at A Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning.
The Spanish coach arrived at Al Ahly on a two-year contract, replacing Swiss Marcel Koller, whose journey with Al Ahly ended after he was unable to reach the CAF Champions League final after a semi-final exit against Mamelodi Sundowns.

What Jose Rivero had to say about the game
Speaking about the game and the changes for the team, Jose Rivero told the media:
This was my first official match in charge of the side, and obviously it’s very different to playing in Egypt. I’m very happy to be here, representing Al Ahly. Hopefully, things will go our way in our next match, We made some mistakes and missed some good chances. If we’d been able to score some of them, the game would have been totally different.
Rivero said.
We were in control in the first-half, but our performance dipped a bit in the second, when we had some issues in transition and misplaced a few passes. However, there are plenty of positives to take away from the match, as well as a few areas we know we can improve.Inter Miami are a great side. In the first-half, we did what we needed to and were the better side, but we dropped off a bit in the second-half because we knew they’d come out strongly after the break. The humidity got to us a bit too, but at least we got a draw in the end.
Rivero concluded.
