Details: Today, the official NBA page on social network X announced the passing of one of the game's greatest coaches, Rick Adelman.
It was reported that Adelman passed away at the age of 80.
Adelman left an indelible mark on league history, spending 23 seasons as a head coach. Over his illustrious career, he amassed 1,042 wins, placing him among the top ten most successful coaches in NBA history.
His greatest achievements came with the Portland Trail Blazers, whom he led to the NBA Finals twice, in 1990 and 1992.
In 2021, Rick Adelman was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, and in 2023 he received the Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the sport.
Throughout his coaching career, Rick Adelman was at the helm of several teams, including Chemeketa College, the Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
