A loss for France.
Details: The French Basketball Federation (FFBB) has announced the passing of Francis Jordane, who coached the French national team from 1988 to 1993, at the age of 79.
In 1988, Jordane was given the opportunity to take charge of the national team. He quickly earned the players' trust and managed to elevate France in the European rankings, reaching the semifinals in 1991—for the first time in 30 years.
After 75 games at the helm of the national team, Jordane concluded this chapter of his career. He later coached teams in Tunisia in the early 2000s and Morocco in 2009, as well as the Perpignan women's squad.
Reminder: Italian basketball player Matteo Bettanti was involved in a car accident and sustained serious injuries.
