A major loss for English football.

Details: It was reported today that former Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and England striker Bobby Tambling has passed away at the age of 84.

According to reports, Bobby left us in the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

Tambling made history at London’s Chelsea, holding the club’s all-time goalscoring record for several decades until Frank Lampard eventually surpassed him.

Tambling also earned 3 caps for the England national team, scoring 1 goal.

In total, Tambling played 436 club matches, netting 210 goals and providing 12 assists. His last club was Irish side Shamrock Rovers, which he left in 1979 when he announced his retirement from playing.
