Carles Vilarrubí has passed away at the age of 71.
Details: Barcelona announced the passing of Carles Vilarrubí on their social media accounts. Vilarrubí served as the club's vice president for institutional affairs from July 1, 2010, to October 1, 2017.
Vilarrubí had ties with the club since his youth: he played roller hockey for Barcelona before building a long career as an executive. Beyond football, he was a successful entrepreneur and gastronome, was awarded the Cross of St. George, and led the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy and Nutrition.
The cause of death is still unknown.
