Fulham are in the final stages of negotiations with Álvaro Arbeloa and are on the verge of appointing the Spanish specialist as the team's head coach.
According to Ben Jacobs, the London club has virtually agreed on terms with the former Real Madrid coach, who is now considered the main candidate for the vacant position.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers' management has carried out an extensive search for a new manager. During the selection process, club representatives spoke with several well-known specialists, including Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank, Kieran McKenna, and Frank Lampard.
Rúben Amorim was also among the potential candidates, but the Portuguese coach ruled himself out of contention. Reports suggest he is currently one of the main contenders for the job at Italian side AC Milan.
