Richards Bay Banks on New Signings to End Scoring Struggles
Richards Bay co-coach Ronnie Gabriel believes the arrivals of Mxolisi Macuphu and Mduduzi Mdantsane will help solve the team’s scoring problems. Mdantsane joins on loan from Kaizer Chiefs, while Macuphu arrives from Royal AM after requesting a release due to financial issues.
Richards Bay has struggled this season, sitting 14th in the Betway Premiership table with just 10 points from 15 matches. They have scored only five goals and failed to win in their last four games. Their latest result was a frustrating goalless draw against bottom-placed Magesi.
Gabriel praised his team’s performance but admitted they need to improve in front of goal. “We dominated the match in every aspect except scoring. We must work harder to finish our chances,” he said.
Richards Bay now faces Marumo Gallants, who sit 13th with five more points and a game in hand. Gallants are unbeaten in their last three matches, including a 2-2 draw against Chippa United.
Kick-off at King Zwelithini Stadium is set for Tuesday evening, with both teams desperate for points in the relegation battle.
