Renowned Argentine manager Jorge Sampaoli will be back on the European sidelines.
Details: Rennes announced Sampaoli's appointment as their new head coach today. The Argentine has signed a two-year contract with the club.
Sampaoli replaces Julien Stéphan, who oversaw a disastrous start to the current season for Rennes.
This marks Sampaoli's second stint in French football, having previously coached Marseille. He has also managed Sevilla in Europe, with his most recent club being Flamengo.
Rennes currently sits in 13th place in Ligue 1 after 11 rounds, with a meager 11 points to their name.
Reminder: Niko Kovač, known for his work with Bayern Munich, Monaco, and Eintracht Frankfurt, was previously mentioned as a potential candidate for the Rennes manager position.
