Return to Europe! João Cancelo set to join Inter from Al Hilal. But what does Barcelona have to do with it?
Inter are on the verge of signing Cancelo on loan, but the deal is far from straightforward.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano on his social media page X, 31-year-old Portuguese defender João Cancelo, currently with Saudi giants Al Hilal, is just a step away from a move to Inter Milan.
Reports suggest Inter will take Cancelo on loan until the end of the season, sending either Acerbi or De Vrij to Al Hilal in exchange.

All agreements and contract details have been finalized, but Cancelo is in no rush to sign off. His representatives are in contact with Barcelona to find out if the Catalan club would like to bring the Portuguese full-back back to Camp Nou.
If Barcelona decide not to pursue him, Cancelo will proceed with the move to Inter as planned.
Cancelo played for Barcelona on loan from 2023 to 2024.
Cancelo joined Al Hilal in 2024 from Manchester City for €25 million. Since then, the Portuguese star has made 45 appearances for the Saudi powerhouse, scoring 3 goals and providing 14 assists. His market value is currently estimated at €10 million by Transfermarkt.
Reminder: Al Hilal renews interest in Francesco Acerbi. The defender could reunite with Simone Inzaghi
