Return is near. Benfica in talks with Chelsea over João Félix transfer

Lisbon giants Benfica are making a serious push to bring back one of their most dazzling academy graduates—João Félix. According to TEAMtalk, the Portuguese side is in negotiations with Chelsea regarding the transfer of the 25-year-old forward.

The main stumbling block in the potential deal appears to be Félix’s hefty salary, but both parties remain in discussions that reportedly began several weeks ago. It’s noted that Benfica is offering €20-25 million for 50% of the player’s rights.

Félix himself has made no secret of his desire to return to the club where he started his professional journey. His contract with Chelsea runs until the summer of 2031, and Transfermarkt currently values him at €20 million.
