Return delayed: Maddison to rejoin Tottenham squad in 2–3 weeks
Tottenham midfielder James Maddison suffered a calf injury in late January, and initial expectations were that he would make a swift return. However, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has dismissed those hopes.
Details: The Tottenham boss confirmed that Maddison’s recovery will take another two to three weeks, meaning the 28-year-old midfielder will be sidelined at least until mid-February, missing four to five matches.
At best, Maddison will be able to play in the match against Manchester United on 16 February, while the worst predictions would only allow him to take the field in the game against Manchester City on 26 February.
Reminder: Tottenham is currently dealing with an injury crisis, particularly with muscle injuries. Postecoglou has publicly taken responsibility for the situation.
