On Saturday, February 8, Serie A's Matchday 24 featured a clash between Verona and Atalanta. The match ended in a dominant 5-0 victory for La Dea, with Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui netting four goals.

Retegui became the first Italian player to score four goals in a Serie A match since Ciro Immobile did so for Lazio against SPAL in January 2018.

In the current Serie A campaign, Retegui has played 22 matches, scoring 20 goals and providing 3 assists.

Atalanta sits third in the Serie A standings with 50 points (15 wins, 5 draws, 4 losses).

Previously, it was reported that Manchester City and Manchester United will battle for Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer.
