Rest in peace. Turkish club Istanbulspor announces the death of 20-year-old footballer Baran Alp Vardar

Turkish football has suffered a heavy loss. Istanbulspor player Baran Alp Vardar has died at the age of 20 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

The young footballer played for Istanbulspor, a club competing in Turkey's second tier — the Trendyol 1. Lig. Reports indicate that Vardar underwent treatment for about a year and a half, but doctors were ultimately unable to save his life.
