Barcelona has been in contact with Arsenal's head coach, Mikel Arteta, as reported by Relevo.

The Spanish coach has piqued the interest of Barcelona's leadership, particularly Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco. According to Barcelona's bosses, Mikel Arteta fits the profile the club is seeking to replace Xavi next season. The Spanish team admires Arteta's advocacy for attacking football and good ball control. Additionally, they value his boldness and ability to integrate youth players and club graduates into the first team.

Sources indicate that Barcelona has already made contact with Arteta's entourage and the coach himself. He has a valid contract with Arsenal until 2025. However, in February, Arteta stated that his possible move to Barcelona is completely fake news.

It's worth noting that Arteta began his career at Barcelona B but failed to break into the first team and was loaned out to a French club. Since July 2016, he has been part of Pep Guardiola's coaching staff at Manchester City, leaving in December 2019 to take over at Arsenal.

Earlier, there were discussions about Luis Enrique returning to the managerial position at Barcelona. However, according to Marca, the current coach of PSG has no intention of leaving just yet. The 53-year-old specialist himself does not wish to depart Paris.
