Brentford technical director Lee Dykes has emerged as one of the leading candidates for the role.

The search for a new head of the transfer department intensified after Richard Hughes decided to leave the club at the beginning of September. Ward previously enjoyed a successful spell as Liverpool's sporting director during the 2022/23 season, after which he oversaw technical matters within the team's ownership structure.
