Reputation above all. Punjab Kings sacks content creators over controversial posts
The management of the Punjab cricket club has taken a drastic step amid growing discontent on social media.
Details: According to Revyaz Sports, Jasmit Singh and Piyush Sharma are likely to be suspended from the club's media team. The reason behind this move was a wave of negative comments from fans, who judged the produced content as inappropriate and damaging to the professional reputation of the franchise.
The reason for such decisive action was the so-called “cringe content,” which had been regularly appearing on the team’s official pages lately. Fans repeatedly pointed out that questionable humor and low-quality posts were seriously harming the club’s image and reputation.
The management sided with the fans, acknowledging that the current digital promotion strategy was at odds with the team’s core values.
