Manchester City faces a challenging period this season and is set to make moves in the upcoming transfer window to bolster the squad.
Details: According to The Sun, the club's priority for January is signing a new central midfielder who can fill in for 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, who continues to recover from a torn ACL.
Head coach Pep Guardiola has reportedly asked the club’s management to pursue Real Sociedad and Spain national team midfielder Martín Zubimendi.
To secure Zubimendi, however, City will have to meet his release clause, set at £50.3 million in his contract.
Reminder: Liverpool showed keen interest in Zubimendi over the summer, but the midfielder ultimately chose to remain with his hometown club.
Yesterday, Manchester City fell 1-2 to Brighton, marking the first time in Guardiola's managerial career that he has lost four consecutive matches.
