Replacement for Dumfries. Inter begin talks over transfer of World Cup star
Inter Milan are determined to strengthen the right side of their defense and will hold talks with London’s Tottenham Hotspur next week regarding the transfer of Djed Spence, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The need for a new right-back arose after Denzel Dumfries left this summer for Real Madrid in a €20 million move. Initially, the Nerazzurri considered Marco Palestra and Anan Khalaili as options, but both deals fell through: Palestra signed with Chelsea, while Khalaili failed his medical.
According to the source, Spence’s representatives have already held preliminary discussions with Inter, and the 25-year-old Englishman is open to a move to Serie A. Now, the Milan club must reach an agreement with Tottenham, who value their defender at around €35 million. It’s worth noting that Spence has already played in Italy, making 16 Serie A appearances for Genoa during a six-month loan spell.
