Tonight, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, a boxing event is set to take place, promising excitement despite the absence of major title fights.

Fans will witness an exhibition rematch between the legendary Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III, the grandson of the infamous gangster. This will be Mayweather's eighth fight since retiring from professional boxing in 2017.

It's worth noting that their first encounter ended prematurely when the referee disqualified Gotti for repeatedly breaking the rules, leading to a brawl between the two camps that spilled into the backstage area. As a result, Gotti was suspended for six months, while the undefeated Mayweather escaped any punishment.

This marks Mayweather's first rematch in an exhibition, and only the third in his career where he has given an opponent a second chance. Previously, only José Luis Castillo and Marcos Maidana were granted such an opportunity.

The fight will be held without any weight restrictions. At the weigh-in, Gotti came in nearly 10 kilograms heavier than Mayweather, weighing 82.3 kg to Mayweather's 72.9 kg.

In addition to the Mayweather-Gotti bout, fans can look forward to fourteen more matches. Notably, former world champion Victor Ortiz will face Argentina’s Rodrigo Damian Coria in an exhibition match, while Mexico's Alan Picasso will clash with Armenia's Azat Hovhannisyan for the WBC Silver title.
