The relationship between Borussia's head coach, Edin Terzic, and the team's leader, Marco Reus, may further deteriorate, as reported by Bild.

Sources suggest that the potential arrival of English footballer Jadon Sancho, who plays in Reus's position, could be a cause for this strain. Marco did not make it into the starting lineup in the match against Mainz (1:1) and played only 57 minutes against Augsburg (1:1). If Sancho's transfer does happen, the playing time for the 34-year-old leader may be further reduced.

It is noted that Marco himself had hoped to showcase his skills this season to earn a spot in the Euro 2024 squad and to extend his contract, which expires in the summer. Reports indicate that he was among those who complained to the management about Terzic amidst Dortmund's poor results.

On December 21, a meeting took place between the club executives and Terzic, after which it was decided to continue the collaboration with the coach for the second half of the season.

In the current season, Borussia has not demonstrated the most convincing results. The Yellow and Black side is currently in fifth place in the Bundesliga, trailing six points behind the Champions League qualification zone. In the DFB-Pokal, Dortmund was eliminated in the Round of 16.
