Red Devils Seek to Build on 7-Point Lead in Group C Despite Key Absences
This Saturday, in Abidjan Stadium, Al Ahly will play Stade Abidjan in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage. With seven points, the Red Devils are in second position in Group C. They will be looking to increase their lead over the Ivorian team, who have just one point and are at the bottom of the group.
In their previous encounter in the first round, Al Ahly triumphed 4-2 over Stade Abidjan at Cairo International Stadium on November 26.
However, Al Ahly will be missing several key players, including Taher Mohamed, Ashraf Dari, Yahya Attia Allah, Percy Tau, Mahmoud Kahraba, Omar Kamal, Reda Slim, and Mohamed Abdullah.
Al Ahly has played Ivorian teams 21 times in the past, winning 11 of the games, drawing 4, and losing 6. Against Ivorian opponents, the Red Devils have scored 28 goals and given up 20.
According to Transfermarkt, Al Ahly's market value stands at €30.8 million, while Stade Abidjan is valued at just €200,000.
