Record-breaking MLS transfer: Inter Miami makes history

Inter Miami has made MLS history, not just through the presence of stars like Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, but also by setting a transfer record.

Details: The Florida club has sold its forward Leonardo Campana to New England Revolution for $2.5 million. Of this sum, $2 million will be paid in 2025, with the remaining $500,000 due next year. Inter Miami could also earn an additional $750,000 in bonuses, as well as a percentage of any future resale.

This deal involving the Ecuadorian forward is now the most expensive transfer between two MLS clubs. The previous record was held by Paul Arriola, who moved from D.C. United to FC Dallas in 2022 for a base fee of $2 million plus $300,000 in bonuses.
