Record-breaking in history. FIFA released a report on the summer transfer window

In most leagues, the summer transfer window is already over, so we can draw a line under it. This is exactly what FIFA did, having published a report on the activity on this market.
In it, we can read that this window was a record in terms of the number of transfers made. At the time of publication of the report, 10232 transfers have been made, and another 768 transfers are waiting to be finalised. In total - exactly 11 thousand transfers.
This is a record high. The previous top bar was set a year ago with almost 10.5 thousand transfers, and this figure is growing every summer.
However, if we talk about the total money that was spent for transfers, this window was more modest than the previous one. In 2023, all clubs in the world spent $7.43 billion, which was a record figure.
In 2024, almost a billion less was spent - $6.46 billion. But that's still more than the 2020-2022 windows, where an average of $4.28 billion was spent.
If we're talking about specific leagues, England spent the most on transfers. 526 transfers cost these clubs a combined $1.69 billion. That is, on average, one purchase by an English club cost four million dollars.
