Nottingham Forest is seriously considering filing an official complaint with the Premier League management.

Details: According to The Athletic, the reason for this legal action is the verdict in the case involving Chelsea and their secret payments. Nottingham Forest believes it is extremely unfair that the London giants managed to avoid sporting sanctions, such as a points deduction, while other clubs in the league have been handed the harshest penalties for far less significant financial violations.

As a reminder, last week Chelsea was fined £10.75 million and handed a suspended transfer ban. The investigation revealed that over a seven-year period, the club made undisclosed payments to agents and players totaling £47.5 million. Notably, Chelsea's new owners themselves reported the violations discovered during an audit of the Roman Abramovich era, which the league considered a mitigating circumstance.

If Nottingham Forest takes the case to formal proceedings, the Premier League could face a wave of lawsuits from other clubs, as Everton has already announced plans to complain to the league as well.

Recall: It has emerged whether Liam Rosenior could be dismissed as Chelsea's head coach.
