Italian giants Milan are considering Andriy Lunin as a potential replacement for Mike Maignan and are keen to make a move for the Ukrainian goalkeeper this summer. According to Defensa Central, the Rossoneri are prepared to allocate around €8–10 million for the transfer, but this very factor could complicate negotiations.
The Italian club is already concerned about the situation surrounding Maignan. Talks over a contract extension have stalled, and the Frenchman's deal expires in 2026. From January 1, he will be entitled to start pre-contract discussions with any club and could leave Milan on a free transfer in July, prompting the management to look for alternatives in advance.
Lunin is among the most attractive options: he has experience competing in top tournaments but remains a backup at Real. The main stumbling block is his long-term contract with the club, which runs until 2030. Real Madrid rate Lunin's potential highly and are not willing to let him go on the cheap.
