Real Oviedo Joins the Race for Kevin Lomónaco, No Offer Yet for Independiente Star

Kevin Lomónaco continues to draw interest from Europe, and the latest club to inquire is Real Oviedo, according to TyC Sports. The newly promoted La Liga side, owned by Grupo Pachuca, reportedly held talks with the center back’s agent to assess the possibility of a transfer. However, no official offer has been submitted to Independiente.
The 23-year-old has had a standout season with the Argentine club, quickly becoming a key figure under coach Julio Vaccari. He’s already been linked to several European clubs, including Barcelona, Real Betis, and West Ham. But Independiente has made its stance clear: Lomónaco will only leave if his $20 million release clause is met.
Signed through December 2028, Lomónaco has shown no urgency to leave. “I’m fully committed to Independiente,” he said after their Copa Argentina win over Gimnasia de Mendoza. “My mind is here, and I’m happy.”
For now, the player remains in Avellaneda, and unless a significant European offer materializes, Independiente has no plans to part ways with one of its most valuable assets.
