Real Madrid's starting defender will miss his national team matches
Real Madrid continues to struggle with injuries at the start of the new season. The latest player sidelined due to injury is the team's primary left-back, Ferland Mendy, under the management of Carlo Ancelotti.
The 29-year-old has been diagnosed with a bone injury in his right ankle. The exact recovery time for Mendy has not yet been disclosed.
Earlier this season, other key players like Jude Bellingham, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga, and young defender Joan Martínez have also suffered injuries.
Mendy has already been withdrawn from the French national team squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Belgium. Aston Villa's left-back, Lucas Digne, has been called up as his replacement.
Throughout his career, Mendy has earned 10 caps for the French national team.
