Real Madrid talent forced to retire at 19 due to severe injury imago

Injuries have impacted not only Real Madrid’s first team but also its promising young talents. One such prospect has had to end his career at a very early stage.

Details: Nineteen-year-old midfielder Marc Cucalón has officially announced that he will no longer play football.

The reason is a severe knee injury he sustained in 2022. Cucalón tore his cruciate ligaments and spent over a year in recovery.

Upon returning to training, it was discovered that an infection had developed in his knee, ultimately preventing him from continuing his career.

Cucalón played as a central midfielder and, during his brief career, appeared in four matches in the UEFA Youth League.

Reminder: This weekend, Real Madrid’s main center-back, Éder Militão, also suffered a cruciate ligament injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
