Real Madrid may consider selling one of their pivotal central defenders
Key midfielder Toni Kroos has announced his retirement, which came as a shocking revelation for Real Madrid. However, this is not the only change that could be in store for the Madrid club this summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Royal Club is contemplating the possibility of parting ways with central defender Eder Militao. The 26-year-old Brazilian has been a virtually indispensable player for head coach Carlo Ancelotti. However, earlier in the season, he suffered a serious injury - a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Militao only returned to action at the end of March, but since then, he has appeared on the field very infrequently. It now seems more like Militao is being utilized for rotation purposes rather than to prevent recurrence. In the position of center-back, midfielder Chust has been deployed rather than Militao.
Due to this, the leadership of Real Madrid and head coach Carlo Ancelotti are considering the option of selling the Brazilian. He has appeared in just 12 matches this season.
Recall that recently Carlo Ancelotti revealed which club he plans to conclude his coaching career with. The Real coach stated that the "Royal Club" will be the final stop in his career.
