Real Madrid is considering the option of bringing back Raphael Varane to the club, as reported by journalist Christian Falk.

According to sources, the "Los Blancos" may reintegrate their former center-back due to the injury sustained by David Alaba. It's worth noting that due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the Austrian defender will miss the rest of the season and the UEFA Euro 2024.

In the summer of 2011, the Spanish club Real Madrid acquired Varane for €10 million. On June 27, Varane signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid. His debut in La Liga took place in a match against Racing.

During his time at Real Madrid, Varane became a three-time La Liga champion, won the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup four times each, claimed the Supercopa de España and UEFA Super Cup three times each, and also secured one Copa del Rey.

On July 27, 2021, it was announced that Manchester United and Real Madrid had reached a preliminary agreement on Varane's transfer. The transfer fee amounted to £34 million and could rise to £42 million with bonuses.

The transfer was completed on August 14, 2021, with Varane signing a four-year contract with the English club.
