Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois names his dream five-a-side team
Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois recently took part in the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, hosted by Qatar Airways, where he revealed his ideal five-a-side team made up of players he has played alongside.
Ferdinand challenged the Belgian goalkeeper to select his dream lineup for a 5v5 match, and Courtois wasted no time making his picks.
For the defensive position, he immediately chose former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. Moving to midfield, he selected Eden Hazard and Toni Kroos, calling his former Belgium teammate “the best in the world.”
In attack, Courtois made a surprising decision by leaving his current Real Madrid teammate Kylian Mbappé on the bench. Instead, he opted for Vinícius Júnior and Karim Benzema as his two forwards.
This means that Vinícius was the only current Real Madrid player included in Courtois' dream team. However, given the goalkeeper’s illustrious career and the number of world-class players he has played alongside, his selections are hardly surprising.
