Earlier, we reported that Real Madrid intends to swiftly finalize the transfers of two young players. One of them is the 16-year-old player from River Plate and the Argentine youth national team, Franco Mastantuono.

Now, according to AS, the Argentine club has set a price tag of €45 million for their midfielder, despite Transfermarkt's statistical portal assessing the player's contract value at only €4 million. Such an amount seems incredibly high for such a young player, and could set a club sales record. In recent years, River Plate's most expensive sale was Enzo Fernández's transfer to Benfica, who now plays for Chelsea, for €44.3 million. It's also worth noting that another young player, Claudio Echeverri, was sold to Manchester City for only €14.5 million.

Possibly, the player's price is being inflated by interest from other clubs as well. According to Fabrizio Romano, besides Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea have also shown interest.

Franco Mastantuono has only played for River Plate's main team in the Argentine Cup. He has appeared on the field 10 times and scored one goal. Mostly, he plays for the reserve team.

Additionally, the 16-year-old midfielder has represented the Argentine U-17 national team in the World Cup, where he played two matches.

It's still unknown what decision Real Madrid will make regarding the player, but it's becoming clear that the price tag set by his club may deter many potential buyers.
