The European club season is nearly over, and international fixtures are just around the corner. Kylian Mbappé is set to represent France, but Real Madrid has made a special request to the forward.
Details: According to L'Équipe, the Madrid club's management has asked the striker to join the national team camp at a later date. This request doesn't concern just Mbappé, but also Aurélien Tchouaméni. Real wants both players to have extra rest time before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.
As a result, the two Madrid stars could report to the French national team on June 2—the latest possible date permitted by FIFA regulations.
In the UEFA Nations League semi-finals, France will face Spain. The match is scheduled for Thursday, June 5. The winner of this clash will advance to the final to meet the victor of the Germany vs Portugal encounter.
