West Ham could rake in a hefty sum this summer despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Details: According to renowned and reliable journalist and insider Nicolo Schira via his X social media page, 21-year-old Portuguese central midfielder Mateus Fernandes of West Ham has become the target of two European heavyweights.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid and Manchester United are locked in a fierce race to secure the signature of West Ham's midfield talent, seeing immense potential in him.

West Ham, meanwhile, are prepared to offload key players following their Premier League drop and have set a price tag of no less than €90 million for Fernandes to offset financial losses from relegation to the Championship.

Fernandes joined West Ham in August 2025 from Southampton for €44 million. He has made 38 appearances for the Hammers, netting 4 goals and providing 4 assists.

His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is estimated at €50 million.
