Real Madrid are on the verge of pulling off one of the most high-profile transfers of the summer.
Details: According to Diario AS, French centre-back Ibrahima Konaté, who is leaving Liverpool, is just one step away from joining the "royal club" as a free agent.
The "Los Blancos" management have already reached an agreement with the 27-year-old Frenchman on personal terms. Konaté will sign a long-term contract with the Madrid giants for four years, with an option to extend for another season.
A key factor in this deal was the approval from the coaching staff. Real's head coach, José Mourinho, personally gave the green light to Konaté's signing.
It's worth noting that this season the French defender played 51 matches for the English club, scoring 2 goals.
