Lionel Messi is already with the Argentina national team camp, gearing up for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The football superstar posted photos from yesterday’s team training session.
In one of the pictures, Messi is working with the ball, while in another he’s snapped alongside his close national teammate Rodrigo De Paul.
It’s worth noting that even though Argentina has already secured a spot at the 2026 World Cup, Messi still joined up with the squad for these qualifying matches. He has missed a significant number of games in this qualifying campaign, featuring in only 4 out of 14 matches so far.
During this international break, Argentina will face Chile and Colombia. The Chilean side currently sits at the bottom of the CONMEBOL qualifying group, holding the slimmest chances of reaching the World Cup finals.
For Inter Miami this season, Lionel Messi has played 20 matches, notching 15 goals and providing 6 assists. His team is currently 6th in the MLS standings, trailing the leaders by 5 points.
