Argentina captain Lionel Messi shared his emotions and spoke about his physical condition during an official press conference ahead of the World Cup kickoff.
Details: At the press conference following the friendly against Iceland, the star forward admitted he had been under serious psychological pressure due to a recent injury that had made it difficult for him to fully focus on football.

Messi emphasized that it was crucial for him to get on the pitch in this match, in order to overcome his mental barrier and regain self-confidence.
“Today I really wanted to play, because I needed to get rid of that fear related to the injury. I want to finally stop thinking about it and obsessing over my health issues. We still have a whole week left to finish our preparations and, thank God, today I felt great,” Messi said candidly.
It’s worth noting that at the World Cup, Argentina will face Algeria, Austria, and Jordan in the group stage.
