RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo is close to a move to Barcelona, and now the Bulls are looking for a replacement. Or rather, they have already found one.
According to Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig are interested in Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Rayan Cherki to replace the Spaniard. The 20-year-old Frenchman has already had initial talks with the German club and they have been successful.
But, final negotiations with both Lyon and the player himself still need to be held. The financial valuation of Cherki is between 15 and 20 million euros.
Earlier, another German club, Borussia Dortmund, had claimed the French youth national team player, but the Bumblebees pulled out of the race for the midfielder after head coach Nuri Şahin did not express a need for him.
Olmo himself, who will be drafted in to replace Cherki at RB Leipzig, is staying in Germany for now as his club cannot agree on the financial component of the transfer with Barcelona.
