Rayados Reaffirm Trust in Demichelis Despite CONCACAF Setback Rayados Reaffirm Trust in Demichelis Despite CONCACAF Setback

Just weeks after speculation mounted regarding Martín Demichelis’ potential departure from Monterrey, the Rayados’ board has publicly reaffirmed its support for the Argentine manager. The club's early exit from the Concacaf Champions Cup had fueled questions about his future, but team president José Antonio Noriega has now confirmed that Demichelis remains firmly in charge. The statement was reported by Olé.

“Martín must have everyone’s confidence, especially ours,” Noriega said, adding, “This is football—everyone is under constant evaluation, and no role is ever fully secure. But right now, we’re not thinking about making changes.”

Demichelis took over Monterrey midway through the 2024 season and managed to guide the team to the Apertura final, which they lost to Club América. That campaign helped solidify his credentials within the club, despite recent international disappointment.

Rayados recently earned a convincing away win and now face two consecutive home matches, presenting a prime opportunity to climb in the domestic standings. Noriega emphasized the importance of strong momentum heading into the tournament’s final stretch, citing the unique nature of Liga MX, where end-of-season form often proves decisive.

For now, Demichelis' position appears secure, with the club doubling down on their long-term vision under his leadership.
