Raúl Ruidíaz Returns to Peruvian Football
Raúl Ruidíaz has been announced as the new player of Atlético Grau, surprising the Peruvian football scene with the move for the 2025 season. After his return to Universitario and an agreement with Ayacucho FC fell through, the Peruvian forward signed with the Piura-based club. The signing was confirmed through several social media posts, where Ruidíaz generated excitement, sharing videos and pictures related to the team.
The 34-year-old striker signed a contract that runs until December 2025, with clauses allowing for departures both domestically and internationally. Ruidíaz will travel to Piura to join training under the guidance of Ángel Comizzo, who played a crucial role in his decision to join the club, having previously been teammates at Universitario in 2013.
However, Ruidíaz will not be eligible to play in the Copa Sudamericana with Atlético Grau as he was not registered for the group stage. His participation will be limited to Liga 1 unless the team advances to the tournament's round of 16.
