Rani Khedira Switches International Allegiance to Tunisia
Rani Khedira, the brother of former Germany international Sami Khedira, has officially switched his international allegiance to Tunisia.
The Tunisian Football Federation confirmed the development on Wednesday, announcing that FIFA has approved the change of sporting nationality for the Union Berlin midfielder.
Khedira, 32, was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and previously represented Germany at youth level. However, he never made a senior appearance for the German national team, leaving the door open for him to represent another country at international level.
Confirming the decision, the Tunisian FA stated that FIFA’s tribunal had formally approved the midfielder’s request to change his sporting nationality.
"The FIFA tribunal has officially approved today the change of sporting nationality for player Rani Khedira," Tunisia's FA posted on Facebook.
